After years of playing sports, Marquis learned that true success begins in the mind. He believes that “winning within” means mastering emotional regulation, managing unhelpful thoughts, and staying composed under pressure. Guided by this philosophy, Marquis is passionate about helping individuals find inner peace, heal from past experiences, and achieve personal growth.
Marquis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Arkansas State University–Jonesboro and a Master of Social Work from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He is a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW), certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and trained in Internal Family Systems, Grief-Informed Therapy, and Anger Management. In his sessions, he often integrates mindfulness, behavioral therapy, humanistic therapy, solution-focused therapy, and role-playing techniques to meet each client’s unique needs.
Committed to ongoing learning and evidence-based practice, Marquis stays current with the latest therapeutic approaches and always meets individuals where they are. His experience includes working with juveniles facing probation revocations, sex offenses, and murder charges, as well as school-aged children and adults managing ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, and Trauma-Related Stress Disorders. He also supports adults and families dealing with relationship challenges, low self-esteem, grief, parenting issues, and premarital counseling.
Above all, Marquis finds purpose and fulfillment in helping people discover their inner strength and become the best versions of themselves.
